Scalia! 'Caption that Photo' contest!

Now that the Boston Herald's got the photo of SC Judge Antonin Scalia's giving an Italian hand gesture, let's see who can come up with the best caption!

Maybe something like "Recusa?  Excusa!"

For what it's worth, I somehow love the picture.  About time a conservative jurist started speaking with rare clarity!  This photo might be on display by both Left and Right!

(The picture's on Drudge if the Herald's site is still down.)

when he felt the need to respond to a question with an obscene gesture. The picture was actually taken by an archdiocese photographer.

If Breyer or Souter had done the same thing, in the same place, I can only imagine the outrage here at RS would be overwhelming.

Regardless of whether you basically agree with Scalia's ideology, which I do, it was still a stupid classless thing to do.

but I think that gesture was not offensive.

I think it is a Scilian gesture meaning something equivalent to brushing a question off that is not worth answering. If you read carefully about the situation, it wasn't.

Stop watching Soprano reruns.

You might want to be careful with those Pointy Sticks.

the gesture combined with him saying "`Vaffanculo" to the photographer was very classless.  "`Vaffanculo" pretty much means go F yourself.  I'm not sure there's too many Catholics out there (myself included) who think that doing that right after communion during lent is something to worth looking up to.

... "a Herald reporter asked the justice how he responds to critics who might question his impartiality as a judge given his public worship." [emphasis mine]

I'd say "vaffanculo" is an entirely appropriate response to someone moronic enought to ask that question. Or to Pat Leahy anytime.

Can anyone help with pronunciation?
